We offer a fun, entrepreneurial culture, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work with a mission-driven, collaborative team.ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESThe Controller serves as the senior leader for accounting, financial reporting and tax compliance across corporate and project entities. This role combines traditional controllership responsibilities with senior tax leadership, ensuring accurate GAAP reporting while overseeing partnership tax compliance, structuring considerations, and tax equity obligations.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDEOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processing and compilation of financial statements for project and parent entitiesOversight of outsourced accounting and bookkeeping, maintaining solid review of periodic financial statement preparation and workbooks, treasury and payables activitiesEvaluate bringing outsourced tasks in-house. Ensure that outsourcing function is operating efficiently and effectively. Where it is not, create ability for Primergy to take on functions.Manage the annual audit across the group ensuring suitable coordination between auditors and outsourced accountantsEnsure appropriate accounting treatment across development, construction, and operating phases, including capitalization, revenue recognition, impairments, and cost allocationsManage compliance with tax equity partnership and debt financing agreementsManage project cash distributionsSupport bi-monthly payroll recording and reportingConduct and manage process improvements and documentationOversee tax compliance, enabling the Director of Taxation's application of tax strategy across federal, state and indirect tax mattersEnsure suitable investigation of tax opportunities and risks and appropriate communication with managementCoordinate with project finance on modeling of project performanceCoordinate with FP&A to present financial performance and commentariesPartner with all other internal groups, supporting their enquiries and financial needs in driving the businessManage and mentor internal control team staff and oversee outsourced accounting staffEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCERequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.CPA required.10+ years of progressive experience across accounting and tax, including controllership, tax manager, or senior accounting roles.Strong hands‐on experience with:Partnership taxationTax equity structuresProject finance and complex legal entity environments* Deep understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting obligations.* Proven ability to interpret and apply financing and partnership agreements.Highly PreferredExperience in renewable energy (solar, storage, wind).Prior responsibility for partnership tax compliance and coordination with external tax firms.Experience supporting construction‐stage projects and asset transitions to operations.Background in environments with outsourced accounting and tax providerSKILLSETHigh integrity, sound judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.Comfortable owning both accounting and tax decisions with limited internal resources.Strong communicator with the ability to translate technical issues for non‐technical stakeholders.Practical, solution‐oriented mindset well‐suited to a growth‐stage developer.Willingness to operate hands‐on while building scalable infrastructure.Primergy is committed to cultivating an inclusive and welcoming workplace.
