As part of Controllership organization, the CONTROLLER ASSOCIATE MANAGER SOUTH AFRICA will be based in Poland, Warsaw to drive alignment between local operations functions, GBS and ensuring compliance to Zimmer Biomet policies and procedures.The Controller Associate Manager will be responsible for ensuring maintenance and application of internal controls within the local organization, timely and accurate reporting of finance metrics, drive statutory & tax compliance and provide support in audit process and audit remediation issues.How You'll Create ImpactCoordinates and/or supports (as needed) closing activities, including: Period End Close: Timely approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset accounting and reviews of complete financial statements. Financial and External Reporting. VAT compliance. Ensuring completeness of intercompany recharges. Supports ensurance that all close activities are complete, signed off on, and books are closed per established close calendar. Supports maintenance of Statutory records and participate in Statutory audit preparation, ensures all compliance objectives are met. Prepares data for Tax audits Liaises with operations to ensure stock counts correctness and application of respective policies Prepares Representation letters to be reviewed and approved by Country Controller Manager and provides support to the latter. Executes requirements for SOX controls and compliance reporting and manage review process. Coordinates the PTP process with GBS and ensures escalations are addressed. Ensures payroll process completeness and approval at each payroll cycle, serves as finance partner for payroll and HR team. Executes process improvements, technology implementations, and automations to streamline the efficiency and effectiveness of the RTR process. Completes ad-hoc projects and reports. Researches management questions and resolve issues. What Makes You Stand OutStrong analytical, oral and written communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential. Understanding of established general accounting policies & procedures. General understanding of accounting principles. Ability to think critically to perform other duties and ad-hoc requests, as assigned. Computer skills including: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Finance and Controlling modules, General Ledger, database management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Your BackgroundBachelor’s Degree required and 8+ years of experience in Accounting and Financial Reporting. Must have a working knowledge of US GAAP and other regional and global accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, IASB).
