Treasury Specialist Intern (1876)
Position OverviewPerform cash activities and reconcile cash balance with bank balance and related account balance.Job FunctionsProcess, record and/or monitor the agency’s cash receipts, revenue and banking transactionsReview deposit coding to ensure correct general ledger accounts are used prior to posting to accounting softwaresystemReview bank deposits for mathematical accuracy and account codingCommunicate with other Agency personnel to reconcile any inaccurate deposits prior to those deposits beingentered in the accounting software systemMaintain bank deposits file to provide access for retrieval and review of individual cash receipt transactionsReconcile assigned bank accounts monthlyRecord bank transactions in the accounting system for cash receipts and cash adjustmentsDownload HGAC statement and import data into databaseStamp checks with signature plates for authorization to payProcess credit cards for the Billing departmentManage stale check list monthlyMonitor amounts of cash in accounts to ensure that enough cash is available to cover expenses but that excessis invested when possibleSubmit and monitor positive pay and ACH information for all payments generated by Accounts Payable andPayrollCommunicate with banks and other third parties regarding any fraudulent or unauthorized transactions in ourbank accounts. Notify supervisor and bank representative immediately of any suspected activityEstablish direct deposit for vendorsContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededPerform detailed review and analysis of cash transactionsAssist with other accounting duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor(s)QualificationsRequired for All Jobs Complies with all policies and standardsPreferred/ Required QualificationsAssociate's DegreeOr equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.ProficiencyWorks well with others as a team Ability to prioritize tasksAbility to use good judgment and effective decision Organized and detail orientedUphold confidentality and discretion with all sensitive matters Detailed oriented10 Keys touchComputer Proficiency Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Access, Adobe and Outlook.
