Project Engineer
The Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, gathers, and distributes information. The Project Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. nProject Engineer Major Duties & Responsibilities: nnnCoordinates with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel. n nnResponsible for preparing, reviewing, distributing, and tracking Request for Information (RFI) and Submittal packages. n nnAssist in preparations of bid packages and procurement n nnMay be responsible for bid analysis, constructability reviews, and permit processing. n nnInspects all work to assure compliance with plans and specifications. n nnOffers technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications. n nnGeneral understanding of project budget; may assist with buyouts n nnMonitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to PM or Superintendent as appropriate. n nnChange Order management, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing action and change orders n nnMaintain accurate contract documents n nnGeneration of project punch list and closeout documentation. n nnUpdate construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress and materials delivery n nnTrack and inspect material deliveries n nnAssist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required n nnAttend project meetings, as directed by Project Manager and record meeting minutes n nnDemonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others n nnAssist Senior Project Manager n nnOther duties assigned n n nProject Engineer Qualifications: nnnDegree in Engineering or Construction Management. n nnDemonstrated expertise (either through internships or work experience) in commercial projects (i.e. tenant improvements, multi-family and multi-use, corporate and institutional structures) n nnExcellent communications skills required for interaction with vendors, designers, consultants, and clients. n nnMS Office (Word, Excel, Project) AutoCAD, Revit, Blue Beam n nnMinimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management n nnStrong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations n nnExcellent communication and leadership skills n nnAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously n nnProficiency in project management software and tools n nnProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred n nnExperience in managing large-scale construction projects n nnAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans n nnKnowledge of budgeting and financial management n nnExperience in managing and supervising construction teams n nnStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills n nnTime management skills and organizational skills n nnAbility to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times n n nPhysical Demands: nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
