Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Developer
Stellar is seeking a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Developer to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This advanced-level role focuses on integrating VDC technology into our project execution process. The VDC Developer will develop VDC technology and related processes, providing solutions to project-related issues. By establishing sound procedures and standards, the VDC Developer ensures successful implementation for our design and construction teams.Responsibilities:Provide leadership and guidance in BIM / VDC technology development.Work with VDC and IT staff in development of VDC standards and 3D CAD tools.Implement VDC technologies on construction projects to include BIM models.Assist project teams with design and pre-construction services, establish / implement VDC procedures and techniques to assure timely modeling / shop drawing approval.Advise and assist project teams with process and methods per company standards.Monitor the modeling process to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within allotted budget.Lead the adoption of VDC tools and processes as directed.Keep up with industry trends as it is related to VDC, software, and technology.Assign development activities to VDC technicians.Develop training material and conduct VDC training including software and procedures for Stellar staff.Complete other responsibilities as assigned.Competencies:Ability to train and guide team members.Able to visualize in a 3D Modeling environment.Excellent problem solving/analysis.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent written and communication skills.Good leadership ability.Good understanding of design and construction processes and project management.Qualifications:Minimum of an associate’s degree in related field.Advanced Revit user with 8+ years of experience.Working knowledge of BIM / VDC with 5+ years of related experience.Demonstrate extensive knowledge of required software (AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.).Functional knowledge of MS Office products.About StellarStellar offers a comprehensive package which includes:Competitive pay based on experienceRemote & hybrid work options for many positionsPaid Time Off – accrue 15 days (120 hours) within first year of servicePaid holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insurance optionsTax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA, Dependent Care FSA)Company-paid life and disability insurance401(k) – company match with immediate vestingStellar, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL, is a fully integrated firm focusing on design, construction, architecture, engineering, and mechanical services worldwide for over 30 years.
