Provide office and clerical support to assist with the efficient operation of the department. One to two years related experience and/or training. Language Skills: Read and interpret procedures, policies and regulations, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, staff, and public. Preference: Inupiaq speaking and cultural experience preferred. Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of non-standard situations. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Alaska Driver's License required. Other Skills and Abilities: Type 50 words per minute. Lift 40 pounds. Experience in the use of office machines. Essential Functions Prepare reports, correspondence and memoranda, reviewing drafts and final copies. Type, collect and report information as directed. Respond to telephone calls; give information to callers, or route calls to appropriate staff. Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail. Assist in the coordination of special office projects and activities. Schedule appointments, make travel arrangements, and assemble materials for meetings. Place orders for materials, verify quantities delivered, and distribute to staff. Maintain an accurate inventory of materials and equipment. Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the supervisor may assign. Adhere to all District policies and regulations.
