Together, we'll proudly step back and say, "We did that".ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform TIG welding operations on aluminum, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade metals on complex welds Read and interpret complex blueprints, weld symbols and route sheetsSet up and use fixtures accurately to ensure quality welds and part integrityApply proper welding rod selection using established color code systemsFollow WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) standards and qualify for MVP and Operator CertificationsUse precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scales to inspect and verify partsRework and repair welded parts to required specificationsFollow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and standard shop practicesDocument work performed and ensure traceability of parts and weldsMaintain a clean, organized and efficient welding area, utilizing 5s Standards and established storage requirementsMay be assigned other duties as requiredDECISION-MAKING AUTHORITYEmployee is responsible for determining if she/he has adequate information and materials to complete tasks as directed.Selection of methods and sequences within limits of the specific jobs assigned.Determines if in-coming and out-going parts are made to specifications.Decisions/Problems referred to supervisorProblems with equipment or machinery.Quality problems.Conflicting priorities.Incorrect documentation.Training issues.But what else? Completion of formal welding training program is a plusHighly skilled in using TIG welding equipment and precision measuring instrumentsRequires a thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures.Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Must be certified on 2 materials of the Company's choosingMust be able to qualify for MVP certificationStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityKnowledge of material properties, hardware specifications, and welding compatibilityFamiliarity with rework techniques and common welding defectsEmployee must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
