Process Tech/Supervisor Plastic Injection Molding 2nd and 3rd shift
Essential Job Functions:
Verifies and documents that process settings are within parameters called out in the Process Book.
Ensures that all molded product meets acceptable customer requirements.
Performs visual checks on molded product hourly.
insuring the adherence to daily priorities within the 2 cells of the unit and the plant
review proper placement of all operators within the unit,
Ensure and enforce organization and cleanliness of the unit
Work with the QE for the work cell to insure the operators have what is needed to do the job properly
Insure the basic intent of “every press must run” is adhered to
Look for and implement every opportunity for improved efficiency. i.e reduction of labor, more efficient way of moving product from the press to the operator at the aisle location
Production report for all presses in that unit
Drive compliance to the completion of the pace board
Drive the completion, by the end of the current shift, of any and all rework or back up created on his/her shift
Responsible for records and reports on production of shift.
Monitors, reports and dispositions scrap as needed.
Oversees that jobs are running to standard.
Promotes a safe work environment.
Oversees/enforces that operators are at their work stations at the appropriate time.
Oversees/enforces that work stations are clean throughout the day and at shift change.
Must complete daily reports and enter production, scrap, downtime etc as required in database and report in daily accountability meeting.
Works with Quality Engineer to report any quality issues or concerns.
Ensures company procedures and policies are being followed and uses corrective action when necessary.
Complete ownership of the unit performance, cleanliness, and over success and pride
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
May assist in training new operators/trimmers to perform jobs.
Reworks parts as needed.
Operate fork truck when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Function as material handler/die setter when required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Communication skills necessary to provide information in a comprehensible fashion (oral and written); read and comprehend instructions.
Good interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain a productive working relationship with staff members and clients.
Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
Calculate surfaces, volumes, weights, and measures.
Working Conditions:
Shop environment with exposure to loud noises from shop machines.
Extended hours are commonly required beyond the regular eight hour workday.
Occasional lifting and carrying tools and other items weighing up to approximately twenty five pound, and or up to 10 pounds frequently. Work requires walking and standing approximately ninety percent.
Must wear protective equipment such as safety glasses to shield against bits of plastic while on the shop floor.
Follows all safety, housekeeping, and company policies and procedures.
Exposed to hot and humid conditions during warm months.
