Project Manager

Kitchell seeks an experienced and dedicated Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager to join our Southern California region in Pasadena and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented Construction Services companies in the United States.OverviewPerform CM services as an Owner's Representative over ground-up construction projects in the Community College Market Sector.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides PM/CM Consultant Services as an Owner's Representative over a ground-up DSA campus buildingEnsures operations are executed in accordance with company project management procedures and policiesEnsures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplishedManages the procurement phase and development of RFQs and RFPsOversees of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirementsCoordinates, direct, and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entitiesManages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the clientIdentifies and manages risk on the project, and advises and confers with regional executive prior to implementing risk mitigation actionsActively participates on internal teams that focus on continuous improvement of the companyEnsures workplace health and safety policies and procedures are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and enforces rules fairly and uniformlyEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline is preferred4 or more years of industry experience with 2 or more of those years with managerial responsibilities is requiredExperience in the California Education Market Sector -Division of the State Architect (DSA) is requiredExperience with the design process in construction with FF&E upgrades or interior space changes is preferredKnowledge and SkillsEffective presentation skills, ability to develop and deliver presentations to the end users, stakeholders, board of education is requiredProficient user skills with the MS Suite of tools and Bluebeam is requiredWorking knowledge of standard industry tools such as P6 and Procore is strongly preferredEffective verbal and written communication skills to foster and maintain interpersonal relationships is requiredProvide leadership and financial management support to the project team is requiredLicense and Certifications* A CCM, DBIA, or LEED Professional Accreditation is strongly preferred* A valid California driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions is requiredTravel RequirementsThe position is project site based and work is performed on location in Pasadena, CA.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office, an office trailer, and/or in a construction jobsite environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
