Success in this role depends on building trust through dependable communication and strong relationships, while balancing big‑picture strategic thinking with careful attention to detail in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership & Strategic CounselServe as a hands-on senior client lead, acting as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisorLead multiple client accounts within defined revenue targets, ensuring excellence in execution and quality controlDevelop and oversee customized public relations and corporate communications strategies that align with business objectives and market dynamicsShape and drive integrated communications programs across key milestones, including clinical data, regulatory events, and corporate announcementsLeverage deep knowledge of the biotech and life sciences media landscape to lead efforts to secure impactful, top-tier, trade, and business coverageOversee development and review of communications materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, consistency, and high standards across messaging, data, grammar, and toneProvide counsel on complex, high‑stakes issues including corporate positioning, reputation management, thought leadership, and executive visibilityAnticipate challenges, troubleshoot issues, and maintain strong client satisfaction and retentionMedia & Market LeadershipBring established relationships across biotech, healthcare, and business mediaGuide teams in translating complex science into clear, compelling narrativesAdvise clients on how to position within an evolving and competitive biotech landscapeStay ahead of industry, media, and stakeholder trends to inform proactive strategySupport teams in developing media and market-informed strategies and execution plansBusiness Development & Organic GrowthDrive organic account growth by identifying new workstreams, upsell opportunities, and expanded scope opportunitiesLead or co‑lead new business efforts, including strategy development, pitch leadership, and client presentationsDevelop insight‑ and data‑driven strategies that clearly articulate value and business impactConfidently present capabilities, case studies, and proposals to prospective clients through compelling storytellingFinancial & Fiscal ResponsibilityOwn financial health of assigned accounts, including budget development, forecasting, staffing alignment, and scope managementEnsure work is delivered within fee and expense agreements; proactively recommend scope changes when necessaryPartner closely with Finance and leadership to manage revenue projections and staffing utilizationReview and approve timesheets and train teams on fiscal responsibility and best practicesTeam Leadership & Talent DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams across levels, fostering growth, accountability, and strategic thinkingManage and mentor direct reports, including performance feedback, career development, and goal settingCollaborate with other public and investor relations senior leaders to ensure seamless integration across teams and disciplinesAttract, retain, and develop top talent while cultivating a positive, inclusive, and collaborative cultureThought Leadership & Industry PresenceChampion thought leadership through bylines, speaking engagements, panels, awards, and industry visibilityBring forward‑looking industry insights to clients and internal teamsRepresent the organization professionally within the healthcare, communications, and finance‑adjacent ecosystemsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field requiredAdvanced degree or credential (MBA, CFA, or similar) strongly preferred11–14+ years of relevant experience, including 8+ years in senior leadership or supervisory rolesDeep experience in healthcare, biotechnology, wellness, or highly regulated industriesProven ability to advise C‑suite executives and manage sophisticated communications programsSkills & CompetenciesExceptional strategic thinking, communication, writing, and presentation skillsDeep understanding of the biotech landscape and a track record of delivering resultsStrong experience and expertise in supporting clinical-stage and/or commercial biotech companies, including data milestonesDemonstrated leadership skills with experience building and developing teamsStrong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue growthDemonstrated success driving new business and organic account expansionAbility to lead multiple complex initiatives in a fast‑paced environment with minimal oversightStrong research, analytical, and problem‑solving skillsCollaborative leadership style with high emotional intelligenceDigital and social media fluency across earned, owned, and integrated channelsPrecision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
