PRUMC's youth ministry serves a vibrant and engaged group of students and families, and we are seeking a full-time Associate Director of Youth Ministry to join our team.The ideal candidate will sense a clear call to youth ministry and have a passion for helping students grow in their faith through Wesleyan theology within the United Methodist tradition. We are looking for a self-starting, relational, team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and connects well with students, parents, and volunteers.This role typically requires 3-5 years of youth ministry experience, particularly in recruiting and leading volunteers, and planning and executing trips and events. That said, we are most interested in finding the right person whose gifts and calling align with our common purpose to "model Jesus by helping young people feel fully known and truly loved."PRUMC is committed to developing its staff and offers a competitive salary, strong benefits package, and opportunities for professional and spiritual growth, including conferences and ongoing training.While each member of the youth ministry team leads in specific areas, we share a commitment to collaboration, working together for the good of the ministry.Essential Job FunctionsConfirmation DirectorLead PRUMC's year-long Confirmation program for 6th graders (approximately 40-65 students annually)Recruit, equip, and support an adult teaching teamCoordinate curriculum, teaching schedule, and weekly logisticsPlan and lead the annual Confirmation retreat and Confirmation Sunday serviceVolunteer Recruitment & DevelopmentLead the recruitment and development of adult volunteers ("shepherds")Invest in volunteers relationally and equip them for effective ministry with youthRecruit and mentor college students in the school-year internship program Youth Leadership TeamAssist the Director and grow the Youth Leadership Team (currently 35+ students)Develop student leaders through training, mentorship, and leadership opportunities Trip LeadershipServe as a primary leader for female students during local and global tripsProvide relational support, guidance, and pastoral care to middle and high school girlsParticipate in the planning and execution of trips and retreats Additional ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with youth ministry staff on weekly programming and special eventsContribute to the overall vision and direction of the youth ministryOther duties as assigned Requirements Behavioral CompetenciesAt PRUMC, we strive to foster a collaborative, Christ-centered staff culture.
