Heating Air Conditioning Mechanic
Job SummaryResponsible for the installation, repair, maintenance, and diagnostics of HVAC systems at the Journeyman level within large, complex, and critically controlled environments. Works independently or in teams to ensure proper HVAC operations and compliance with tenant and facility requirements. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform Journeyman-level HVAC maintenance, repair, installation, and diagnosticsService refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating, ventilation, and dehumidification systemsConduct preventative maintenance (filters, cooling towers, coils, etc.)Fabricate and install ductwork and HVAC componentsInstall and connect compressors, motors, controls, fans, and panelsTest systems for pressure, vacuum, and refrigerant leaksCharge systems with refrigerant and verify operating pressuresReplace electrical components (thermostats, breakers, wiring, switches)Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specificationsPerform general building maintenance related to HVAC and electrical systemsComply with safety, PPE, and confined space requirementsOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsMinimum 4 years of progressive hands-on experience in commercial or industrial HVAC environmentsMassachusetts Refrigeration Technician LicenseHVAC Journeyman LicenseEPA Universal CertificationHigh School Diploma or equivalentAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishBasic computer skillsAbility to read and understand blueprints and schematicsStrong communication skills across diverse personnel
