Senior Construction Estimator & Project Lead

The role involves preparing quantity estimates using material, labor and overhead costs and managing projects awarded to the company.Key ResponsibilitiesBid and manage multiple jobs concurrently.Estimate earthwork, demolition and utility projects including quantity take-off, pricing, crew production and scheduling.Visit project sites weekly to monitor progress, update schedules and review costs with the Project Superintendent.Manage profit/loss through weekly cost reviews.Oversee awarded projects: ensure safety practices, create and update schedules, prepare monthly billings, review job costs, perform cost projections, manage change orders, and oversee subcontractors and vendors.Work with owners/customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction.Use tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Bid 2 Win, Sales Force Construction, Plan Swift, Microsoft Project or P6, Job Cost Projections, and Viewpoint.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsEducation / ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.Five or more years of construction estimating experience preferred; comparable education and experience acceptable.Work RequirementsRead and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.Write correspondence.Present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and employees.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Perform basic mathematics and financial calculations.Apply common sense to detailed instructions.Type accurately and use database software.Key CompetenciesCustomer service: handle difficult customer situations and meet commitments.Teamwork: contribute to positive team spirit.Judgment: exhibit sound judgment.Planning/organizing: use time efficiently.Professionalism: approach others tactfully and handle pressure.Interpersonal: solve conflict, maintain confidentiality, listen, stay open to ideas.Safety: observe procedures and report unsafe conditions.Adaptability: adjust to changes, delays or unexpected events.Attendance/punctuality: be consistently on time.Dependability: follow instructions and commit to long hours when needed.Initiative: offer help when needed.Innovation: suggest improvements.Quality: ensure accuracy, thoroughness and use feedback to improve.Physical RequirementsSit, climb, signal and handle equipment; occasionally stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.Relative vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception.Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, exterior weather, extreme temperatures.Noise level typically moderate to loud.What CRH Offers YouHighly competitive base pay.Comprehensive medical, dental and disability benefits programs.Group retirement savings program.Health and wellness programs.Inclusive culture valuing growth, development and internal promotion.Western Rock Products is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
