March 23, 2026Part Time, Non-Union, 19hrs/wkHourly Range: $15.00 - $17.00General Description:The position is responsible for receiving and scheduling appointments for paratransit services for residents in the Towns of East Longmeadow, Hampden, and Longmeadow.Primary Essential Functions:The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various type of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.Implement and maintain the COA's transportation program to provide rides for qualifying people in need.Receive and schedule transportation requests for medical appointments, grocery shopping, social activities, etc.Assign riders to appropriate day, time, and van to ensure proper pick up and return schedule.Uses the Schedules Plus software program for maximum transportation efficiency.Communicate all safety issues, vehicle accidents, and driver or passenger injuries or incidents to the COA Director or their designee immediately.Perform similar or related work as required.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHigh School Diploma, or equivalent.Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience in a similar position preferred.Knowledge of streets and facilities in East Longmeadow and surrounding cities and towns.General knowledge of vehicle maintenance schedules preferred.Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a dynamic team.Ability to communicate with diverse groups of people, including but not limited to the disabled and elderly populations.Ability to manage time in a busy office setting with many interruptions.Computer skills necessary, must be able to learn the transportation software, must be able to type.Strong communication and customer service skills.Strong organizational skills.Problem solving skills.MS Word and Google Workspace skills.How to Apply:Please apply via online at at https://www.eastlongmeadowma.gov/jobs.aspx or submit your paper application and resume to: Human Resources Department, 60 Center Square, East Longmeadow MA 01028.A complete position description may be obtained by contacting the Human Resources Department.The Town of East Longmeadow is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
