Project Manager – Runway Status Lights (RWSL) Sustainment ProgramCAS is a prime support contractor to the FAA Runway Status Lights (RWSL) Program Office. RWSL is a fully automated safety‑critical system that integrates airport lighting with surface and terminal surveillance sensors to provide real‑time visual warnings to pilots and vehicle operators when a runway is unsafe to enter, cross, or use for takeoff.We are seeking a motivated, responsible Project Manager to join our team supporting the modernization and sustainment of mission‑critical FAA infrastructure across the National Airspace System (NAS). This role blends project leadership, technical coordination, stakeholder engagement, and field implementation management.Position OverviewAs a Project Manager for the RWSL Sustainment Program, you will lead and coordinate all activities associated with the design, development, testing, installation, and deployment of RWSL system enhancements. You will guide projects from requirements definition through design reviews, system integration, field installation, and final acceptance—ensuring smooth transitions between engineering, implementation, and operational teams.This role requires strong project leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, risks, and stakeholder expectations across multiple airports nationwide.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership — Manage end‑to‑end project execution for RWSL subsystem upgrades, from planning through deployment.Requirements & Design Coordination — Work with subcontractors to develop system designs aligned with FAA requirements; facilitate SRR, PDR, and CDR milestones.Requirements Management — Track and maintain program and technical requirements, including updates to the Verification Requirements Traceability Matrix (VRTM).System Integration Oversight — Coordinate integration of new components, including configuration, networking, security, and software updates.Test Planning & Support — Develop system test plans and support engineering teams during lab and field testing at the FAA RWSL facility in Oklahoma City.Documentation Management — Update system documentation (SDP, SRS, SDD, IDD, ICD) as required for new components or system changes.Technical Analysis — Evaluate hardware/software design issues, propose alternatives, and recommend solutions that balance cost, schedule, and performance.Configuration Management — Provide recommendations for managing configurable items within the RWSL sustainment baseline.Installation Planning & Scheduling — Develop deployment schedules and negotiate installation windows with airport stakeholders, including Air Traffic, Airport Operations, and FAA Technical Operations.Subcontractor Management — Administer competitive bids, select qualified airfield electrical contractors, and oversee all subcontractor activities (QA/QC, installation, reporting, change management, invoicing, and closeout).Stakeholder Coordination — Serve as the primary point of contact for airport‑level coordination, ensuring safe and efficient installation activities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree requiredMinimum 15 years of experience in project management or a similar technical leadership role (preferably projects related to FAA or Aviation Industry)Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)Must have extensive experience managing subcontractorsProficient in MS Project, SharePoint, Teams, and JiraAutoCAD experience is a plusMust pass pre‑employment drug screeningU.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (required for Public Trust clearance)Location & ScheduleRemote positionStandard M–F business hours, with flexibility for customer or site needsUp to 50% travel within the U.S.Security RequirementsCandidates must be eligible to complete the SF‑85P Public Trust background investigation.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependentsPaid time off + 10 company holidaysMatching 401(k)Remote work flexibilityLife and AD&D insuranceTuition assistanceFlexible Spending & Health Savings AccountsBereavement leaveAbout Loyal SourceLoyal Source provides healthcare and technology solutions designed to improve outcomes and support mission-critical operations.
