This role involves vendor management, bid evaluation, and price negotiation to ensure cost-effective and quality procurement. The Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining vendor relationships, tracking purchases, and contributing to the organization's overall procurement strategy. Essential Job FunctionsSource and purchase materials, supplies, and services to meet organizational needsQualify and evaluate potential vendors based on quality, cost, and reliabilityPrepare and analyze bids, quotes, and proposals from vendorsNegotiate prices, terms, and conditions for purchased goods and servicesTrack and monitor purchases to ensure timely delivery and quality standardsMaintain an up-to-date database of vendor information and performance metricsCollaborate with internal departments to understand and fulfill procurement needsEnsure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulationsIdentify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurementPrepare regular reports on procurement activities, spending, and vendor performanceStay informed about market trends and industry best practices in procurementOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field of study (or equivalent experience)2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or related areaStrong negotiation and communication skillsProficiency in procurement software and data analysis toolsKnowledge of contract law and purchasing regulationsExcellent organizational and time management skills Applicants must live in CO,UT or IDPreferred QualificationsProfessional certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM)Experience with e-procurement systems and digital procurement toolsKnowledge of international procurement practicesFamiliarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing principles Work EnvironmentThis position is primarily office-based but may require occasional travel to meet with vendors or attend industry events. The role involves frequent interaction with vendors, internal stakeholders, and management. The Buyer must be comfortable working independently on complex projects while also collaborating with cross-functional teams.
