Surgical Tech
Overview: PRN Position6:45am - 3:15pmAssist the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room and provide patient care in the clinical setting. Specific course work: Graduate of surgical technologist programPreferred Education:Associate's degreeRequired Licensure/Certifications:-Surgical Tech Certification from NCCT, NBSTSA, or LCCC-ST-BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red CrossPreferred Licensure/Certifications:N/ARequired Experience:Minimum of 6 months surgical technologist experiencePreferred Experience:3-5 years of working experience as a surgical technologist and assistant in a specialty line (Cardiology, Neurology, or Orthopedics)Necessary Skills:Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life spanStrong working knowledge of anatomic structure and human body systemStrong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processesIn depth knowledge of medical terminologyMust have excellent verbal and written English communication xtnlbfm skills, including but not limited to presentation skills and report writingMust have expert knowledge, use and demonstration of standard precautions; Expert knowledge, use and experience with aseptic and sterile techniqueMust have experience training and precepting staff in Cardio-Thoracic surgeryMust have organization and time management skills including but not limited to organizing, planning and prioritizing work.Age of Patients Served:All Age Groups
