Engineering Manager - Protection, Control & Automation
For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $142,400 - $213,600 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also use communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850 and others.Our team specializes in applications such as automatic transfer schemes, generator control, load management, intelligent load shedding and restoration, networking, SCADA systems, and protection schemes. These solutions are developed using protection relays, PLCs, RTUs, generator controllers, HMIs, and network switches. We also utilize communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, and others.The key responsibilities of this role are outlined below:Engineering resource plan:Understand backlog evolution and forecasts to proactively and efficiently plan resource needs. Collaborate closely with Sales to understand forecasts, key opportunities, and strategic accounts. Regularly review resource allocation to ensure an optimal balance between workload and utilization.Project Execution:Ensure the team delivers high-quality project outputs in a timely mannerCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycleKey activities include:Assigning resources to new projectsParticipating in project handoff meetingsWorking with Project Managers (PMs) on schedulingAttending project review meetingsManaging escalationsEnsure adherence to Schneider Electric (SE) safety policies and practicesTeam Management:Partner with leadership to define and align on team goalsEstablish clear objectives for both the team and individual membersSupport employee development through:Career discussions (especially for early-career professionals)Coaching and mentoringConduct annual performance evaluations and manage the Global Salary Review processLead team meetings and 1:1 sessionsEnsure adherence to processes and perform quality checksEncourage continuous improvement initiatives from team membersMonitor performance and make adjustments as neededSupport team members with legal status processes as neededCreate a positive work environment that fosters collaboration, cooperation, and strong communication.
