Maintenance Technician

DSC has an immediate opening for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for preventative and responsive maintenance as well as provide clean, safe and well-maintained residential and office properties. Minimum Requirements: Three years strong handyman work experience performing residential maintenance. Willingness to learn new skills or approaches to responsibilities. Must be observant of repair needs, have strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Possess and practice exceptional safety skills when on the job. Current California driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing. Pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen and TB test. Clear Dept of Justice and FBI background prior to being hired. Approved CDSS Exemption accepted. Additional information: https://cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care/caregiver-background-check/background-check) Ability to handle physical aspects of the job including but not limited to: climb a ladder, walk, bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, push, pull and lift items weighing 50 pounds repeatedly during a shift. Reliable vehicle for use during work hours, registered and insured. Possession of basic tools for proficient job performance. Must have a positive attitude and be a team player as well as work independently. Job Responsibilities: Perform daily inspections to identify safety and routine maintenance concerns for 7 properties near San Diego and East County. Respond to routine, preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance including but not limited to carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical, painting, finishing, locks, custodial, HVAC and appliance repair. Must be able to assemble and move furniture safely. Proficient in using standard hand and power tools. Maintain curb appeal, assist in general groundskeeping and exterior property safety and cleanliness. Ensure all work meets safety standards, building codes and agency requirements. Oversee basic vehicle maintenance, inspection, fluid checks, cleanliness, etc. Occasional overtime during evenings and on weekends.
