Receiving/Warehouse Supervisor The Receiving/Warehouse Supervisor at the Bronco Bookstore is responsible for overseeing daily receiving dock and warehouse operations, including receiving, processing, and distributing merchandise. This position ensures efficient inventory control, supports General Merchandise (GM) operations, and supervises part-time and student staff assigned to the receiving area. The supervisor also maintains accurate records, coordinates with vendors and freight companies, and ensures a safe and organized receiving environment in support of the bookstore's broader goals.Duties and Responsibilities:Oversee all receiving dock activities and maintain accurate logs for bookstore receivables.Coordinate with GM departments for receiving, stocking, and maintaining inventory levels.Supervise and train part-time employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.Ensure accuracy in receiving documents, paperwork, and inventory control systems.Communicate with freight companies and vendors regarding deliveries, shipments, and discrepancies.Handle inquiries for lost/missed shipments and resolve service issues related to receiving areas, equipment, and vehicles.Assist with annual physical inventory, including accurate counts and shrinkage control.Organize and clean receiving and warehouse areas.Operate and schedule Foundation vehicles for merchandise deliveries.Support bookstore promotions and events by coordinating receiving and stocking needs.Provide excellent customer service to support strong vendor and campus relationships.Report operational issues to the General Merchandise Manager and Director as needed.Ability to adhere to regular schedule.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Experience in warehouse, receiving, or inventory control, preferably in a retail or higher education environment.2 years supervisory experience in a retail environment.Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.Ability to work with freight companies, vendors, and inventory systems.Proficiency with office equipment and computer systems.Ability to lift/move up to 35 pounds and maintain a safe working environment.Preferred:Prior experience in bookstore or higher education receiving operations.Familiarity with inventory management software and control systems.Knowledge of general merchandise categories and seasonal retail cycles.Cal Poly Pomona Foundation, Inc. offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation (paid medical/dental/vision, retirement, educational reimbursement, etc.).As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
