[In addition to the two (2) $500 scholarships that are awarded to graduating seniors from FRHSD (One reserved for Marlboro High School)].Marlboro High School has been supporting Huaxia South Chinese School cultural and sports activities in the past decade. The success of the Chinese School can be attributed to the backing of Marlboro High School students, teachers and staff. We feel blessed by the community, and to make it even stronger, we would propose to set up an athletic scholarship for the Marlboro High School to be recognized for the athletic achievements.Selection Criteria:The scholarship is open to any senior who enthusiastically participated in the school athletic activities. The following are the requirements:An essay:The essay will focus on the student's experience with sports. Some examples are, "What sports means to me?", "What did I learn most from my intramural or community sports?" There are no limits to the title of the essay. It's a window to let people know how one becomes a strong person through sports, and what positive impacts have been made to one's academic and general life skills besides social identity and adjustment.A recommendation letter as proof of your sport activities (high school sports, intramural sports, or community-based sports), as well as am evaluation of your performance.Involved in high school sports, intramural sports, or community-based sports.Planning to pursue an undergraduate degree at a four-year college.A transcript with GPA >= 3.0The student has to keep a cumulative GPA 3.0 on a 4.3 scale. If the student has a special situation, a recommendation letter from an academic teacher or school counselor is needed.Execution:The applications are sent to the FRHSD guidance office. Afterwards, the application materials will be forwarded to Huaxia South Chinese School to make three selections.A finalist will be awarded $500 each (open to Marlboro High School). The recipient will be announced during the Senior Awards Assembly by a Huaxia South Chinese School representative.Disclaimer:
