DescriptionJob SummaryThe position is responsible for delivering materials to job site locations in the most efficient and safest manner. Oversight of maintenance for assigned truck and working in yard as needed.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDrive vehicles in order to transport materials to and from specified destinationsInspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes in order to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition and DOT compliantLoad and unload trucks, move materials within yard or work site, or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or by yard truckObey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation proceduresRead maps, and follow written and verbal geographic directionsMaintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulationsPerform emergency repairs such as installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chainsReport any mechanical problems encountered with vehiclesReport delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situationsTurn in receipts and money received from deliveries and fuelBunking Jobs by stacking or assembling materials into bundles and then bands bundles together using banding machine and clincherReads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be movedLoads materials onto vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding to materials to prevent shifting or damage in transitAttaches identifying tags or labels to materialsPerform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designeeComplies with Astro policies and proceduresRequirementsEducation and/or ExperienceKnowledge of building materials and building processForklift certification with 90 days of employment is required by employerAny combination of job related experience and/or training, which would produce the required knowledge, skills and abilitiesMust have CDL Class B minimumAstro provides on-the-job trainingKnowledge, Abilities, And SkillsAbility to perform tasks accurately, effectively and in a timely mannerMust be able to multitask, possess good communications skillsMust be detailed oriented and have the ability to work under time constraintsAbility to interface with customers, suppliers, sub-contract crews and personnelAbility to safely perform major job responsibilities with reasonable accommodationsWeight & Lift RequirementsMust be able to lift at least 80lbs repeatedlyLifting anything >100lbs requires additional personnel and utilizing a dolly or forklift if possibleSalary Description$28 - 32 Per Hour
