Account Manager, Content Acquisitions (Kanopy)

Kanopy is a premium video‑streaming platform trusted by public libraries and academic institutions around the world, with a mission to make meaningful, educational, and thought‑provoking films accessible to everyone. A key part of that mission is Kanopy Kids, which delivers high‑quality, carefully curated children’s and educational video content to families through public libraries.We are seeking a mid‑level Account Manager, Content Acquisitions to help grow our Kanopy Kids and educational content library. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in video licensing, media distribution, or content partnerships who is ready to take ownership of accounts, negotiate deals, and contribute to content strategy. You will manage content partnerships, acquire new titles, and help maintain a strong pipeline of educational and family‑friendly programming.ResponsibilitiesManage and build relationships with content partners, including studios, distributors, aggregators, and independent producersFocus on acquiring children’s, teen, family‑friendly, and educational video contentReview title avails, screen content, and recommend acquisitionsNegotiate licensing agreements and support contract renewalsExecute against content acquisition budgets for Kanopy KidsMaintain accurate licensing and rights data in internal systemsCollaborate with teammates to support shared goals and initiativesStay current on trends in children’s and educational mediaHelp improve team documentation, processes, and workflowsRequirementsBachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience3–5 years of relevant experience in account management, partner services, sales, communications, or content acquisitionExperience working with video content, media licensing, or distribution strongly preferredFamiliarity with children’s, teen, and family‑friendly entertainmentStrong communication and relationship‑building skillsOrganized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple prioritiesCurious, collaborative, and solutions‑focusedProficient with Microsoft OfficeWhat's Next:As you’ve probably guessed, OverDrive & Kanopy are places that value individuality and variety.
