Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for a travel job in New Orleans, Louisiana.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Physical TherapistDiscipline: TherapyStart Date: 05/27/2026Duration: 13 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 8 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Days, 5x8hrsHours: 40 hrs/wkStart Date: May 27, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with burn unit experience for an acute care hospital assignment in New Orleans, LA, working day shifts with weekend availability required.DetailsAcute care hospital setting in a specialized burn unitPatient population consists of burn patients with 0–100% TBSA burns requiring PT for mobility, positioning, pain management, and contracture/scarring preventionDaily patient load of up to 8 patients, with census ranging from as few as 2 during warmer months to 8 during cooler monthsOpportunity to assist with outpatient PT evaluations and therapy when inpatient census allowsFloating within the inpatient setting is requiredFacility will consider both PT and OT candidates for this roleDay shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM)Weekend coverage required every weekend, plus one variable weekday shift per weekEpic EMR used; experience requiredScrubs are provided by the facilityRequirementsMinimum 1 year of physical therapy experience requiredActive Louisiana PT license required if applicableEpic EMR experience requiredExperience or comfort working with complex wound care patients, surgical dressings, and pain-limiting conditions preferredMust be available to work every weekendSupervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for considerationCopy of driver's license required for considerationWork history gaps of more than 30 days must be documented and explainedAdditional InformationPrimary responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of burn patients, with a strong focus on mobility, positioning, and prevention of contractures and scarringCandidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay ratesAny former permanent employee of an LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignmentUp to 5 days of RTO may be requested for this assignmentFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-704863.
