FABRICATOR (1st Shift)
General Summary:
Operates various pieces of fabrication equipment that cut, punch, drill or bend metal. Makes own setups, changes own tools and dyes, and does minor maintenance of equipment and tools. Deburrs own parts as required. May be required to operate two machines simultaneously. Performs other work as directed by Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
Using hand tools: power staplers, nailers, and saws
Operating a forklift
Performing quality checks on completed products
Conforming with state and company safety regulations
Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Expectations:
You will be expected to obtain the tools listed as “Minimum Required Tools” for your classification. Regular attendance and starting on time are essential. Responsible for the quality of own work and not to accept poor quality workmanship from others. Expected to perform at acceptable safety, quality and performance levels and strive for continuous improvement as described in Full Vision’s Quality Policy.
Physical Requirements:
Moves parts weighing up to 80 pounds.
Frequent cutting bending and moving of parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
Occasional squatting, sitting, kneeling, and overhead reaching.
Exposure to noise – continuously
Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds frequently
Continuously operating machinery with buttons, levers, and switches.
Lifting parts above the shoulder and requiring 80 pounds of force to initiate movement.
Standing, Twisting, Walking – frequently
Continuous standing and walking on concrete surfaces
Position Requirements:
GED or High School Diploma
Passage of Drug Test
Passage of Physical Agility Test
Good organizational skills
Good verbal communication
Physical strength to operate machinery
Diligence and attention to detail
Excellent dexterity and hand-eye coordination
