Operations Shift Supervisor

Job Responsibility: The Operations Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operation of the mill. This includes safety, personnel issues, production and quality. Job Duties: Responsible for safety and enforcement of policies Must be flexible in work hours. Normal work schedule can include weekends and off hours Communicate with proper personnel when issues arise in the facility Conduct accident investigations and schedule required drug screening as needed Report employee attendance issues to required personnel Inspect product quality and instruct operators to make line adjustments as needed Review coil schedule line-ups to ensure accuracy Direct maintenance personnel for off shifts and projects as needed Coordinate repair activates with maintenance department Distribute production paperwork at the end of shift Monitor, analysis, and improve process using SEI system Manage and coordinate activities for housekeeping and 6S system Distribute operating supplies to crews as required Complete crew deviations reports Facilitate training Qualifications and Education Requirements: High school diploma or GED Must have a strong commitment to safety Must have strong written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills Preferred Skills: Two or Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field Experience in the Steel Industry Employee Benefits: Health, Dental and vision coverage options Life, short and long term disability insurances Non Union 401(k) plan with employer matching Paid vacation and holiday time Health and wellness programs Important Notes: NLMK is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
