**Facility Mechanic**Manufacturing & UtilitiesCountryside, Illinois, US+ Added - 23/03/2026Pay Rate Low: 30 | Pay Rate High: 35**Maintenance Mechanic**1st Shift | Type: 6-month contract to hire | Pay: $30.00 - $35.00/hr DOE**Position Overview**We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. In this role, you will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of production equipment and machinery by conducting preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and implementing timely corrective actions.**Key Responsibilities**+ Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing support equipment including mixing tanks, gearboxes, boilers, air compressors, and HVAC units.+ Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures on mixing tanks, diaphragm pumps, and positive displacement pumps.+ Execute necessary repairs to restore equipment functionality and minimize production downtime.+ Assist in the installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.+ Run and maintain power, steam, and water lines throughout the facility.+ Ensure all work is performed in compliance with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.+ Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely de-energize heavy machinery prior to any maintenance activity.**Qualifications**Education:+ High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)+ Technical or Vocational Training in Mechanical or Electrical Maintenance (Preferred)Experience:+ 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or a closely related field (Required)+ 1-3 years of experience maintaining hydraulic and/or electrical systems (Preferred)**Skills & Competencies**+ Solid mechanical aptitude with strong hands-on troubleshooting skills.+ Working knowledge of pumps, compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems.+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.+ Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.+ Self-motivated and able to work effectively with minimal supervision._This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
