Your contributions will help shape our future and transform lives!Job SummaryUnder the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician assists with receiving, preparing, packaging, and distributing medications. Responsibilities also include performing non-discretionary tasks such as inventory removal, counting, pouring, mixing, labeling, and dispensing medications in compliance with state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and patient safety standards. Occasional driving for delivery of medications or supplies may be required. The Pharmacy Technician supports 340B program integrity and performs other duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations. Essential DutiesInput patient demographics and insurance information, type prescription labels, process medication refills, and submit billing claims and authorization requests. Label and package injectable medications, ancillary supplies, and oral/topical medications in accordance with patient orders. Prepare shipping documentation, coordinate shipments and confirm deliveries with patients. Reconcile shipments against packing slips and receive and unpack medications.Perform routine daily and monthly cleaning and disinfection of the IV room in accordance with USP <797> requirements and established company policies and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service through verbal, written and in-person communication. Required Education/ExperienceActive California Technician License in good standing with the Board of PharmacyHigh School Diploma or equivalentDemonstrated skill, knowledge, and ability to successfully perform assigned dutiesMinimum of one (1) year of related outpatient, ambulatory, or hospital experience Ability to lift and move inventory and supplies (up to 20 lbs)High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookPreferred QualificationsCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)IV compounding experienceKnowledge of USP <797> and <800>Experience working with Epic and PyxisExperience with the 340B ProgramBilingual in SpanishLicensure/CertificationBasic Life Support (or obtain within first three months of hire).Other Required Skills and QualitiesStrong organizational and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAttention to detail and ability to maintain accurate recordsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionBenefits100% employee coverage of medical and vision, and 99% employee coverage of dental50% dependent coverage of medical and visionFSA HealthLife insurancePaid Time Off10 observed paid holidays403b retirement plan with 4% matchLocation: 701 South Parker Street, Orange, CA, 92868Expected Range: $24.50 - $28.50/hrShift: Day, 8:30 - 5:00Schedule: OnsiteCompensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. About the OrganizationThe Center for Comprehensive Care & Diagnosis of Inherited Blood Disorders (CIBD), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is committed to providing comprehensive care for patients and their families with rare, chronic inherited blood disorders. CIBD is a part of a nationwide network of over 140 Hemophilia Treatment Centers that use multidisciplinary teams of blood disorder specialists to provide expert comprehensive diagnosis, medical care, outreach, education, outcomes monitoring, surveillance, and prevention services to people with Hemophilia, Sickle-Cell Anemia, Thalassemia, Von Willebrand Disease, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and other related benign hematology conditions. CIBD is the regional grantee for the Western States Region for Hemophilia, the Pacific Sickle Cell Regional Collaborative (PSCRC) and Networking California for Sickle Cell Care (NCSCC) providing regional leadership, fiscal and administrative oversight, grants management, capacity building, clinical education, technical assistance, evaluation, and outreach to public and private health agencies at the local, state, and federal levels.The Center for Inherited Blood Disorders is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
