Protection & Control / Electrical Testing TechnicianRemote | Travel RequiredI'm partnering with a growing engineering and field services organization looking to add experienced Protection & Control and Electrical Testing Technicians to support utility, industrial, renewable energy, and EPC projects across the U.S.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician who enjoys commissioning, troubleshooting, and testing electrical power systems while working on a wide variety of transmission and distribution projects.Key Responsibilities• Perform protection & control testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities.• Test and maintain protective relays, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, CTs/PTs, batteries, and other substation equipment.• Support outage planning, commissioning programs, maintenance testing, and field investigations.• Coordinate with customers, engineers, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.• Mentor junior technicians and promote a strong safety culture.What We're Looking For• 3+ years of electrical testing, protection & control, or commissioning experience.• Experience working within utility substations or electrical power systems.• Hands-on experience using electrical testing equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Hi-Pot, or primary/secondary injection equipment.• Ability to troubleshoot electrical protection and control systems.• Ability to read one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and protection drawings.• Strong communication and leadership skills.Preferred Experience• NETA Certification (preferred, not required).• Experience commissioning SCADA or RTU systems.• Experience supporting utility, industrial, renewable energy, or EPC projects.• Previous experience leading crews, outages, or field projects.What's on Offer• Competitive compensation.• Per diem and travel opportunities.• Exposure to utility, industrial, renewable energy, and EPC projects.• Long-term career progression with a growing organization.• Opportunity to work on a diverse range of high-voltage transmission and distribution systems.
