As a Picker Operatoryou are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Picker Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining picker equipment used in the nonwovens manufacturing process. This role ensures raw fiber materials are properly opened, blended, and prepared to meet production specifications while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.Essential Duties:Operate picker machines to open, clean, and blend fibers according to production requirements.Load raw materials (fibers/bales) into the picker system safely and efficiently.Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure proper fiber processing.Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance.Identify and report equipment malfunctions or quality issues to supervision.Ensure proper material flow to downstream processes (carding, web forming, etc.).Follow production schedules and meet output targets.Maintain accurate production and quality records.Adhere to all safety policies, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.Keep work area clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards.Performs all other duties as assigned.Do you have what it takes? Successful candidates for the role will possess the following:Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: High school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in manufacturing or nonwovens/textile production preferred.Ability to operate industrial machinery safely.Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.Strong attention to detail and quality.Capability to utilize problem-solving skills.Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members.Must be self-motivated and positive.Flexible and adaptable.Display highest ethical standards.Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Upholds and supports organizational goals and Core Values.Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.Takes initiative and asks for help when needed.Supervisory Responsibilities:This role does not have personnel supervisory responsibilities; however, this role includes working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.Physical Demands and Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hand dexterity to operate office equipment including computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
