Production Supervisor - 3rd ShiftThis position is responsible for maximizing productivity while showing continuous improvement in scrap, safety and quality objectives in a team-based environment. This position must also ensure that the production lines are run efficiently at all times with the correct amount of employees. Due to the dynamic nature of our business, duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. This is a third shift position: 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIESProductivity/Quality All Hourly Production EmployeesEnsure production lines are running efficientlyMust be actively working with a continuous improvement mindsetMaintaining product quality parametersPlanning / OrganizingThis position is a backup for Filler Operator, Cook, Sanitor, and Ingredient Handler.Safety & SanitationDaily housekeeping for the shiftAssurance of compliance with plant Good Manufacturing ProcessesSafety AuditsResponsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for specified Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.Project WorkTimely completion for objectivesDaily Production, Operating and Efficiency ReportsLine Start Ups & Shut DownsEmployee TrainingShift employeesEvaluationsSafetyRetentionMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience4 year degree in any of the following disciplines: Food Science, Management Supervision, FMO (Food Manufacturing Organization)3-5 years in Food Manufacturing or related industry preferred1-2 years Supervisory experienceComputer proficient MS OfficeTechnical knowledge of food related equipmentMust possess excellent leadership qualities with a proven track record of leading othersWork EnvironmentAvailable to work a flexible work scheduleMust be able to lift/carry boxes of product componentsMust be able to tolerate a warm climate working environmentMust wear appropriate safety and GMP gear in designated areas of the plantAble to walk and/or stand on concrete floors for long periods of timeAble to ambulate hands and fingers to operate necessary equipment for the position, which includes a telephone, computer, radio, etc.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESAll Hourly Production EmployeesADDITIONAL SKILLS/PREFERENCESExcellent Communication skills written & verbalMust be an independent thinking with the ability to make decisions quicklyMust have a sense of urgency coupled with the ability to proactively solve problemsMust display initiative and ingenuityOn the job training regarding Training by HACCP CoordinatorDoes this describe you?Manufacturing/Production experience AS or BS degree Supervisor Experience Food production Willing to work OTThe Ideal CandidatePrevious production supervision experience.Food manufacturing, canning, bottling or glass production experience preferred.Able to be on feet majority of the day.Supervisor a production line.Supervisor/team lead experience.Able to work off shift + weekendsAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
