Road Service Technician
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Road Service Technician to join our team. This role involves providing on-site repair and maintenance services for a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and excellent customer service skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse machinery and tools in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Duties
Respond promptly to roadside service calls to diagnose and repair issues on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems
Conduct vehicle maintenance including tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid checks
Utilize schematics and OEM manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, and tractor-trailers as needed for repairs or parts movement
Fabricate or modify parts using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and other fabrication techniques
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before breakdowns occur
Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Service Technician or Mechanic in dealership or industrial settings
Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, heavy equipment operation, and farm machinery
Experience with OEM systems, schematics, electrical wiring, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and perform heavy lifting safely
Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including brake repair, wheel alignment, suspension work, and tire service
Knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers is highly desirable
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record/Medical card required
Ability to work independently in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
