Building on software and sensor technology this company is now launching the world’s first fully self-driving transportation service that will take members of the public from A to B at the touch of a button.About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Environmental Designer for a high-impact, 3-month project-based freelance engagement. You will define how the brand lives in 3D, from the foundational design language of global offices to the creative oversight of high-visibility experiential activations. You will ensure every environmental touchpoint feels cohesive and on-brand.Core Responsibilities Environmental Brand Standardization: Develop and maintain a scalable Environmental Brand Book to standardize design language across global offices and temporary brand activations. Experiential Creative Oversight: Act as the primary creative lead and brand ambassador for external experiential vendors. Review concepts, provide art direction, and ensure event-based builds align with brand aesthetic and quality standards. Multi-Dimensional Design: Produce high-fidelity 2D layouts and 3D visualizations/renderings to communicate design intent to stakeholders. CMF Excellence: Define Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) palettes that align with brand identity. Artist & Vendor Relations: Source and manage relationships with external artists and fabricators to commission site-specific installations. Site Management: Conduct site visits and tours across Bay Area locations to oversee implementation and audit existing spaces. Interior Environment Focus: Lead the design and refinement of workspace environments and operational facilities such as deployment centers, ensuring functionality and brand cohesion across day-to-day environments. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Contribute to and collaborate across adjacent design disciplines including graphics, motion, and video to create cohesive, multi-sensory brand experiences.Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in environmental, experiential, or interior design, with a proven track record of managing brand standards at scale, preferably within a tech-forward or automotive environment. Hybrid Portfolio: Demonstrates a mix of sophisticated office interior design and large-scale experiential/activation work. Art Direction Acumen: Able to provide clear, actionable creative feedback to third-party vendors and agencies. Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Rhino, SketchUp, Revit, or Cinema 4D) and Adobe Creative Suite. Bay Area Presence: Based in the Bay Area with the ability to support regular site visits and in-person collaboration. Design Aesthetic Alignment: Strong, refined design sensibility aligned with forward-thinking, technology-driven brands. Relevant Industry Experience: Experience working with advanced technology, mobility, robotics, or similarly innovative brands is highly preferred. Multi-Disciplinary Background (Nice to Have): Exposure to or experience in additional creative disciplines such as graphic design, motion, or video production.IndependentAbility to work autonomously, manage complex project timelines, and hold external partners accountable to a high creative standard.
