Farmers Market Sales Associate

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Market Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing customer experience and driving sales in our retail environment. As a Market Associate, you will be responsible for engaging with customers, managing inventory, and promoting products effectively. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Duties Engage customers with exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience. Assist in stocking bread and pastries and maintaining product displays to ensure an organized and appealing store layout. Utilize Point of Sale (POS) systems for processing transactions accurately. Cash-handling. Demonstrate products through effective product demos to educate customers and encourage upselling. Maintain knowledge of current offerings, ingredients, practices. Passionately communicate products to customers Apply basic math skills for inventory management and retail math calculations. Exhibit tact and professional etiquette when handling customer inquiries or concerns. Qualifications Previous experience in retail or sales is preferred but not mandatory. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members. Basic math skills necessary for handling transactions and inventory management. A proactive attitude towards upselling products to maximize sales opportunities. Passion for whole grain artisan bread + seasonal pastry a plus! Desire to work outdoors Coffee experience (including manual espresso machine, dialing in espresso and latte art) is a plus! Join our team as a Market Associate and join our vibrant community of farmers and artisans at the weekly Marina Farmer's Market in Long Beach. The farmer's market is from 9am to 2pm on Sundays. The shifts could start as early as 6:30am and end as late as 3:30pm.
