Pharmacy Technician (Montvale)

Pride Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join a team in Montvale, NJ 07645 for 13 weeks of contract with possible extension. This role focuses on hospital or oncology pharmacy settings, strong sterile compounding skills, and a thorough understanding of chemotherapy medication handling protocols.Job Description:Under the direct supervision of pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician will assist in sterile compounding, chemotherapy preparation, medication distribution, inventory management, and pharmacy operations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing & Sterile CompoundingManufacture, package, and label medications according to departmental guidelinesPrepare sterile and parenteral products using aseptic techniquesHandle and dispose of chemotherapeutic, biologic, and pharmacologic agents safelyCompound extemporaneous products accuratelyEnsure proper labeling and pharmacist verification prior to distributionMonitor medication expiration dates and emergency drug box complianceMedication DistributionSupport daily medication distribution processes including IVPBs, LVPs, narcotics restocking, and patient medication binsDeliver medications within established turnaround timesUpdate medication profiles for admissions, transfers, and dischargesFollow all federal, state, and departmental narcotics handling proceduresProcess pharmacy requisitions and maintain secure medication storagePerform pharmacy calculations and medication counting with pharmacist verificationManage intravenous medication receiving, distribution, and recyclingInventory & Administrative DutiesMaintain compounding logs, hood cleaning documentation, and temperature monitoring recordsClean hoods, counters, and pharmacy equipmentRotate stock and remove expired medicationsMaintain adequate inventory levels and communicate increased utilization trendsPerform narcotic inventory counts and escalate discrepancies appropriatelyUtilize PDAD systems for medication charging and trackingMaintain pharmacy workspaces in compliance with departmental standardsEducation RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCertification & Licensure RequirementsCandidates must have:Active Pharmacy Technician State Registration in New York and/or New Jersey (based on work location)Pharmacy Technician Certification through: PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) OR NHA (National Healthcareer Association)Additional Information:Location: Montvale, NJ 07645Contract: 13 Week with possible extensionShift Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM (variable shifts based on department needs) | 37.5 Hours WeeklyPay Rate: $26 - $28/hour(*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)Interested?
