ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager PAY: Salary

JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Plant Manager provides oversight of all daily operations of the plant
from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop
processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity, propelling growth of the
company.
QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires leadership skills and a knowledge of operations, specific
equipment and best safety practices. Ability to direct all activities related to operations and
production in accordance with the business plan and the strategic goals of the Thermo Bond.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervisors/Leads
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’
expectations.
Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and
maintaining current quality standards.
Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of
direction and focus.
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.
Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
Commit to plant safety procedures.
Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics
and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
Address employee issues or grievances.
Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.
Provide input to management regarding team selection and discipline.
Hire, discipline, and conduct periodic performance appraisals with direct reports.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES
Proven work experience as an assistant plant manager.
Proven managerial experience.

ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER
Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning,
resource allocation and human resources).
Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship
processes.
Computer literacy.
Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
TRAVEL, HOURS OF WORK, & SUPERVISION:
This position normally requires the individual to be physically present at one or more TBB
manufacturing locations. This position will report to Plant Manager/Operations Manager.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
Forklift Operator
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS degree in Business Management or related field
Minimum of 4 years of construction and/or manufacturing experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including but not limited to):
Able to work an 10-hour shift standing/walking.
Able to climb ladders repetitively.
Able to bend, crouch, twist, pull.
Able to lift/carry 70 lbs.
Able to work in hot and wintry conditions as required.
