Holbrook Travel is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled travel planner who is seeking a career with a company that has been a pioneer in sustainable tourism since its beginnings in 1974. Holbrook works with organizations throughout the United States to create travel programs that fulfill a purpose for the traveler and often support the mission of the organization or leader. Our primary areas of expertise are Latin America and East Africa. Additionally, Holbrook owns and operates Selva Verde Lodge and Private Reserve as well as a local tour company in Costa Rica. Holbrook is seeking an enthusiastic person who has a love for connecting with others and holds a strong belief in travel as a valuable vehicle for conservation and experiential learning. Candidates could come from a variety of backgrounds, such as teaching, travel, non-profit, development, or natural resources. Experience with educational travel, being technologically savvy, able to travel, and having ties to conservation and educational communities are all important ingredients. This full-time, permanent position in our Sales team requires a broad range of skills of an organized and motivated individual. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and work well within a team environment. Experience in a commercial sales environment, marketing background, international travel experience, non-profit or science background, and fluency in Spanish are considered a huge plus for applicants. We are looking forward to welcoming a new member into our dynamic and unique team! Key ResponsibilitiesPlan successful small-group travel for organizational partners such as conservation organizations, zoos, aquariums, public gardens, alumni associations and educatorsNetwork in non-profit and education communitiesOutreach to new and existing organizations to plan group travel programsProvide client customer serviceCRM database management working with internal teams Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Bachelor’s degreeTravel experience (Latin America, East Africa, other areas that Holbrook offers)Professional experience in travel or related fieldInitiative, self-starter, leadershipEnthusiasm, desire to connect with othersTies to educational and conservation communitiesKnowledge of world geographyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational/time management skills: Job requires working on multiple concurrent projects.
