As a proud Department of Defense Partner Employer and participant in the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), PPDG remains committed to supporting our Nation's Finest through meaningful careers that make a lasting impact.Ambulatory Medical Coding Auditor/TrainerLocation: Supporting Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Bethesda, MD)Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM (subject to change)Overview:Seeking an experienced medical coding professional to audit, train, and ensure compliance for outpatient and inpatient coding operations.Qualifications:Certification required: AAPC (CPC-H, CPC-P, CPMA) or AHIMA (RHIA, RHIT, CCS-P)Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, coding guidelines, and compliance standardsExpertise in medical terminology, records management, and auditing principlesFamiliarity with DoD/MHS systems and confidentiality regulationsExcellent communication, analytical, and training skillsProficient with coding/auditing software and office toolsExperience:3+ years of medical coding across multiple specialties3+ years of auditing and supervisory experience (DoD preferred)Experience with ambulatory/outpatient surgery coding strongly preferredKey Responsibilities:Audit coded medical records for accuracy and complianceResolve discrepancies and support performance improvementProvide training and feedback to coders and providersPrepare reports and maintain audit documentationEnsure adherence to regulatory and organizational standardsTrack time and reporting via DMHRSi systemAdditional Duties:Complete required training and submit regular summariesMaintain accurate logs, reports, and audit submissionsThis role requires strong attention to detail, independent judgment, and the ability to train and lead coding staff.Monday-Friday 0730-1630 with a 60-minute lunch break.Work Schedule:Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PMWeekly Hours: 8 hours/day × 5 days = 40 hours/week
