Daily assignments, which may include one or more routine job functions, are provided by the shop leader. Mechanics may be assigned to a single routine job function for an entire workday or workweek.Routine Job Functions:Mechanic: Uses standard tools to repair company equipment.Fabrication: Modifies or fabricates repairs using shop equipment.Driver: Conducts road tests to ensure repairs are successful.Janitor: Sweeps and cleans the shop to maintain safety.Clerical Worker: Completes paperwork, manages inventory, orders parts, and answers phone calls. Job Requirements: Lifting: Occasionally (1 to 50 pounds) Can be assigned to lift only light loads or will be given assistance to avoid lifting as necessary.Carrying: Rarely (1 to 50 pounds). Picks up tools and vehicle parts (i.e., new and used) and carries them to install or throw into dumpster.
