We're a lean team moving fast, and we want a builder who can keep up.The roleYou'll help design and ship the agent infrastructure that powers Sweet's core product. Think MCP servers, multi-step agentic workflows, secure integrations with accounting tech stacks (QBO, Karbon, Drake, etc.), and the backend systems that tie it all together. You'll work across the full systems layer — infra, auth, data pipelines, AI orchestration — and you'll use AI to write most of your own code.What you'll ownArchitect and build production-grade agent systems using Claude, MCPs, and modern AI toolingDesign and maintain secure backend infrastructure handling sensitive client financial dataIntegrate third-party platforms (accounting software, portals, CRMs) into unified agentic workflowsSet the technical direction for AI infra — model routing, evals, context management, tool use patternsShip fast in a small team — you won't be waiting on five approvalsWhat we're looking forStrong backend fundamentals (APIs, auth, data modeling, cloud infra)Real experience building with LLMs — not just prompting, but systems that use them reliablyObsessive about security, especially in regulated or data-sensitive environmentsComfortable with ambiguity and capable of setting your own technical directionYou ship using AI-assisted coding as a core part of your workflow — not a noveltyNice to haveFamiliarity with accounting/fintech systems or workflowsEarly-stage startup experience
