Vice President of Finance / ControllerLocation: Houston, TX (onsite)Industry: Technology Equipment; small but scaling companyCompensation: $125,000 – $160,000 base salary + bonusOverviewWe are partnering with a growing IT equipment company supporting large enterprise clients. As the organization continues to scale, they are seeking a hands-on VP of Finance / Controller to lead core accounting operations while also driving financial planning and analysis. Ideally having experience with small companies/teams and must be very hands-on! This role will serve as a key financial leader within the organization, responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, building scalable processes, and providing actionable insights to support business decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reportingLead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timelinessMaintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and proceduresPrepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAPOwn budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processesPartner with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-makingMonitor cash flow, working capital, and overall financial health of the businessSupport audits and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partnersBuild and scale financial infrastructure to support company growthQualifications8+ years of progressive experience in accounting AND finance, with at least 3-5 years of leadership responsibilitiesPrior experience in a Controller or VP-level finance role within a small to mid-sized companyStrong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis (FP&A)Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality with the ability to operate both strategically and tacticallyExperience in technology, IT services, asset management, or related industries is a plus but NOT at all required.
