Accounting Analyst Position is remote - Candidates must work in CST or MST time zone – Candidates must have internet access and be able to complete team calls and daily functions without issues – Even though the candidate is working from home – candidates still need to be professional - teams meeting may require camera's to be on Interview via TEAMS - 1st and 2nd round interviews will be on the same Teams call – Manager and her manager will interview – Cameras must be on when completing teams interview This is a fast paced position - candidates must be able to start by hitting the ground running Candidates need to have strong analytical, experience in all areas of accounting (AP, AR, and GL) and data mining. They ensure timely completion of close related activities and manage risk based on exception reporting.Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsible to review and approve monthly and quarterly account reconciliations as prepared by the Global Staff Accountant to lower risk and ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenanceResponsible to review and approve medium to high risk journal entries as prepared by the Global Staff AccountantAct as the escalation point of contact for the Sysco entities on the balance sheet accounts assignedOverall responsibility for month-end task list, including BPC reporting packages for financial consolidation, on assigned accounts and entities to ensure all period close activities are completed on time and accuratelyRegularly attend key stakeholder meetings to discuss open risks and develop action plans to resolveReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresDevelops and performs analytics on key accounts to drive resolution, create efficiencies in reviews, provide entity wide visibility, and reduce overall risk.Responsible for understanding and applying the Financial & Accounting Methods Manual (FAMM) and suggesting additions and/or updates where necessarySupport internal and external audit requestsReview and provide feedback to the SBS Global team regarding Reconciliations, Journal Entries and other assigned tasksReview and approve SOPs prepared by Global Staff Accountants; ensure the accuracy of current SOPs and assist Global Staff Accountants to revise if neededMentor new Accounting Analysts at SBS and Staff Accountants at SBS Global team members on Sysco Accounting processes and cultureSuggest process improvements and works with upstream process owners to streamline the end-to-end processesSupport the Accounting Team Lead on overall team management where necessaryComplete special projects as necessaryEnsures adherence to department goals/metrics, Internal Audit reports, and SLAs.Education/Experience: 5 years Accounting or related experience required Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance requiredSkills: Demonstrates the ability to analyze and reconcile reports Ability to find & resolve discrepancies Able to work cross-functionally to solve problems Proficiency with Microsoft Office and specialized accounting / finance software ERP Systems (i.
