Location: Tucson, AZ (Onsite)
Duration: Full time
Shift Timings : There will be 2 shifts – 1:30pm to 12am and 7am – 3:30pm
Job Description
· The Automation Validation Engineer position develops, tests, and troubleshoots autonomy software systems used for autonomous machines. This generally includes onboard system validation work that integrates with current machine systems and includes the autonomy sub system areas of Planning, Perception and Positioning technologies, as well as infrastructure areas supporting development of these sub-systems (calibration, simulation, analytics, machine learning development pipelines).
· The position responsibilities include a strong quality focus through thorough test planning and execution. Thorough documentation and communication of issues is a must.
· Advanced data analysis and systems analysis efforts and skills are needed to help troubleshoot complex issues from test or customer sites, and to examine information from test sites to improve overall systems performance.
· Good communication is expected for technical status updates, test plan reviews, and when working closely with other autonomy validation engineers, support teams and product support.

· This is for an Autonomous Truck Integration and Validation Engineer on our 2nd shift team

Typical task breakdown:
· Creating and/or Updating test and development plans for autonomous haul truck testing
· Executing testing on autonomous trucks
· Analyzing test data
· Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or software issues for autonomous haul trucks
· Thoroughly documenting and communicating issues found during testing
· Writing test reports and giving recommendations based on testing experience
Interaction with team:
· Collaboration through in-person or virtual meetings, email, instant messaging, or face to face communication
· A handoff meeting is held each day to prep 2nd shift on work and priorities for testing that night
Work environment:
· Hot, dry, dusty work environment that is comparable to working in Mining Applications
· Work site is a remote building on the property

Education & Experience Required:
· Requires a bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum or in lieu of a degree experience in test or development of control systems, vehicles, engines, or technologies such as autonomy
