QA/QC Engineer – Data Center Retrofit (Onsite)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to support a mission-critical data center retrofit project for a major General Contractor. This role is hands-on and field-based, responsible for ensuring quality execution across electrical, mechanical, and critical infrastructure systems on an active hyperscale data center campus.The ideal candidate has prior data center QA/QC experience, preferably on retrofit or live-environment projects, and is comfortable working closely with construction, commissioning, and owner teams to maintain strict quality, safety, and documentation standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform field quality inspections for electrical and mechanical scopes, including Electrical distribution (switchgear, UPS, generators, busway, panels) & Mechanical systems (chillers, CRAHs/CRACs, piping, pumps, controls)Verify work complies with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standardsConduct inspections during installation, testing, and turnover phasesIdentify deficiencies and generate punch lists, NCRs, and corrective action reportsTrack and close quality issues in coordination with construction and subcontractor teamsReview and validate ITPs, test reports, redlines, and as-built documentationSupport turnover and readiness activities alongside commissioning teamsMaintain accurate daily and weekly quality reportingParticipate in site walks, coordination meetings, and quality reviewsEnsure all work adheres to mission-critical best practices and safety requirementsRequired Qualifications5+ years of QA/QC experience in mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial constructionData center experience required (new build or retrofit)Strong understanding of MEP systems in mission-critical environmentsExperience performing QC in live or retrofit data center environments strongly preferredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and submittalsStrong documentation, reporting, and communication skillsComfortable working onsite full time in an active construction environmentPreferred QualificationsPrior experience on hyperscale data center projectsFamiliarity with commissioning processes and turnover documentationElectrical or Mechanical background (trade, engineering, or equivalent)Procore, BIM 360, or similar construction management software experience
