Commissioning Engineer

Position Overview:
A Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring all technical systems and equipment within the company’s facilities are properly installed, functioning as intended, and meeting operational standards. They are playing a critical role in verifying the smooth transition from development to full functionality, often working closely with engineering teams to identify and resolve issues during the commissioning process. This position is often the face of IMS to the customer.
Pay: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
5+ years experience in industrial automation.
Primary Duties:
Receive assignments from technical lead.
Report on status and communicate technical issues.
Conduct comprehensive testing of all automation equipment and critical systems (electrical, network, IO, Drives, Motors, etc.) to verify functionality and performance.
Utilize schematics, DMM, scope-meter, and small hand tools to troubleshoot complex circuits.
Test and troubleshoot Drive, PLC, and IO communications.
Coordinate with technical lead, and/or end customers to update commissioning plan progress.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during testing, collaborating with engineering teams to find solutions.
Maintain high standards of quality throughout the commissioning process, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Contribute to the overall commissioning plan.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of motors and drives and how to troubleshoot them
Aptitude in programming/configuring PLC’s (Allen Bradley, Siemens, and GE), drives (Siemens, ABB, and Allen Bradley), and or HMI packages is a plus.
Experience in industrial electrical is strongly preferred.
Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software and complimentary areas.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Visio.
Communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
