Casual midweek & weekend position initially based at our Ashwood site and option to work across our other sites in the east subs Great culture with fun, friendly team and supportive environment Excellent Not for Profit Salary Packaging BenefitsAbout The RoleWe are looking for qualified Chef who is available for casual work offering a change of pace, if you have a passion to work within the aged care sector we would love to hear from you.About YouYou will hold relevant certifications and have a comprehensive understanding of Food Safety Laws and Occupational Health and Safety in a kitchen environment. You will have demonstrated experience in all facets of food preparation including managing a team, menu planning, preparation of daily meals ensuring they are fresh, well-presented and appetising. Furthermore, you will possess the following:Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higherFood Safety Supervisor Training (Health & Community) - HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005 and HLTFSE007Experience working in a food services environment and in the supervision of staffInterpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client serviceCommitment to work as part of a team and without supervisionAbility to be self-motivated and to promote a positive lifestyle environmentWell-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrated ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentialityWhile aged care or disability service experience would be great, what is more important is that you want to help to make a difference to our resident’s lives.Why VMCH?Because the people we employ make it a great place to work!
