Employee Event Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: The BJU Press Employee Experience Specialist shares a passion for people and hospitality. In this role, you support a high-quality employee experience by organizing events and programs including new employee onboarding and orientation, employee celebrations, and service awards.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Support overarching people strategies by influencing and delivering key tactics including employee gifts, programs, and events.Plan and manage event logistics at the direction of the Director of Culture & EngagementManage the internal BJU Press event calendarCreate and communicate event schedules and plans and pertinent information to employees, managers, and key points of contactParticipate in team settings and lead meetings that include members of the following internal functions: Culture & Engagement, Marketing Events, Public Relations, and Marketing Research & AnalysisLiaise with department managers to deliver a high-quality new employee experienceLead the new employee orientation programManage procurement and purchasing for employee gifts and giveawaysSupport employee recognition programsSupport scheduling and equipment needs for training eventsManage BJU Press charitable eventsWork within the financial budget as determined by the Director of Culture & EngagementSubmit expense reports to the Director of Culture & EngagementSupport the key Culture & Engagement business functions, as well as change management effortsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Empathy and composure to understand and work with all kinds of peopleA can-do attitudeWillingly accepts vision and directives from management with the ability to share input and feedback as appropriateWillingness to be flexibleCollaboration skills with the ability to understand the diverse needs of a complex organizationOrganized and detail-oriented; able to manage schedules and pertinent event information impacting employees, managers, and key points of contactAble to trouble-shoot challenges with good sense and practicalityAble to work with others in an open cubicle settingAble to simplify complexities to impact broad audiencesStrong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with keen listening abilitiesA team player with the initiative to work independently when appropriateSkill in data management and analysis, a plusREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree2+ years of professional experience in Human Resources, education, event coordination, or administration supportStrong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with keen listening abilitiesConfident and professional in engaging with members of managementStrong project and time management skillsAn applicant for a position in the Bob Jones University group - Bob Jones University, Bob Jones Academy or BJU Press - must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
