Assistant Manager - Haagen-Dazs (Key West)

The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the daily operation of the shop and its employees delivering results in revenue, profit, and operational excellence. In addition, they assist in overseeing the ordering of food and supplies, inventory, optimization of profits and ensure the guests’ satisfaction with their dining experience. The Assistant Manager reports to the General Manager and Area Director. We are looking for a passionate leader with previous food/retail management experience to help us run the best store in the Häagen-Dazs community. Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs. Responsible for ensuring that all financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies. Food Safety, Planning & Guest Service: Enforce sanitary practices for general cleanliness and food handling. Ensure compliance with company policies, federal/state/local laws, and Häagen-Dazs standards. Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service. Must possess Food Handler License and uphold all Food Safety guidelines. Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste. Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Maintain professional shop image, including cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards. Operational: Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests, and company assets. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Manage shifts which include; daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, quality and cleanliness. Investigate and resolve complaints concerning service and food quality. Employees: Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues. Interview employees. Support General Manager with hiring, supervision, development, and termination of employees, when necessary. Conduct orientations and oversee training of employees. Develop employees by providing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and by conducting performance reviews. Personal Requirements: Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing. Pleasant, polite and a clean and neat appearance. Ability to motivate employees to work as a team. Must possess good communication skills or dealing with a diverse staff. Ability to determine applicability of experience and qualifications of job applicants. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age Prior customer service experience required Prior management experience required High School graduate or GED preferred. Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel). Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Prior experience in shop management preferred.
