About This Role Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers. As such our Trimmers, Packagers, and Processors are called Post Harvest Citizens. Team Leads are servant leaders and subject matter experts responsible for leading Citizens in our daily work. Team Leads are working leads and are a key part of the Operations Leadership Team. They work in various functional areas from plant creation and maintenance to product manufacturing and packaging. This is a dynamic team requiring dynamic leadership, and as such daily tasks may vary, resulting in a fast paced and lively work environment. Citizens rely on Team Leads for training, support, and hourly work direction. The focus of the Kitchen Team Lead: “Win The Hour!” What You Will Be Doing: Cultivation Team Lead Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Being responsible for a team of up to 12 citizens. Facilitate Tier 1 Huddles and help manage our CC Lean Management System of Visual Controls (i.e., White Boards, Visual Standards, Signage, etc.) Hold Citizens accountable to time and attendance policies including allocating attendance points, reviewing time sheets, correcting time clock issues. Address personnel issues in a timely manner and if needed, escalate to additional leadership and HR. Exemplifying the 5C’s (Caring, Creativity, Collaboration, Curiosity, Courage) in every interaction with fellow citizens. · Maintain a professional and respectful work environment and team culture at all times · Ensure proper dosing and infusion of active chemicals into food products. · Facilitate regular and proper cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen. · Oversee the preparation all edibles in a sanitary and timely manner. · Follow all GMP and Q/A processes in the facility. · Strict compliance to all department SOP's, batch records, production logs, and associated forms/documents. · Correct inventory accounting of all raw ingredients in the facility for the production schedule. · Maintain relevant training as new products are introduced. · Ensure all Leader Standard Work (LSW), including paperwork, has been completed daily. · Ultimately: Ensuring production goals set by cultivation leadership are met by leveraging Lean Management Fundamentals, addressing personnel issues in a timely manner, giving immediate and specific feedback, maintaining respect and culture of the team, and developing yourself and your team by living the 5C’s. Additional Skills/Tasks: Collaborate with all Citizens to improve daily tasks, ensure proper training, and provide process audits. A passion for Continuous Improvement. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate using electronic media such as Slack and Outlook Email. Perform other duties as required. The Experience/Skills You Bring Proficiency in Lean Management fundamentals including following standard work, identifying the 8 wastes, correctly capturing cycle times, understanding how to follow Leader Standard Work, and maintaining a 5S system. Knowledge of basic MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Basic math skills. Knowledge in areas listed dependent on where you will work: Plant diseases, insects and fungi, fertigation, plant treatment processes, cannabis finished goods product manufacturing, and extraction equipment. 6 months of Labor Leadership. Leadership skills such as emotional intelligence, problem solving, clear communication, spatial organization, attention to detail, documentation, and honest work ethic. Lean Thinking and Continuous Improvement. · Ability to direct Team Members in time-sensitive situations. · Basic understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the kitchen. · Knowledge of working with cannabis or cannabis-infused products. · Ability to accurately follow recipes and measurements. · Ability to be trained on various activities, machines, and systems. · Detailed-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and sanitation. Physical Requirements Regularly required to stand for long periods Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand and walk. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
