Principal Technical Program Manager, Developer Productivity

Role Description We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager, Developer Productivity to lead company-wide programs for AI-assisted engineering workflows. This role will partner with engineering leaders in various domains to make AI-native development safe, measurable, scalable, and effective across Reddit. Reddit is entering a new era of software development. This role will help Reddit build the path for agentic development, ensuring flexibility for teams to experiment while protecting quality and measuring the value delivered. This role reports into the TPM team within Reddit's Engineering Operations organization. As a Principal TPM, you will: Operate at executive and company scope, shaping strategy across multiple organizations. Create alignment where ownership is ambiguous. Set the bar for executing complex technical programs. Deliver programs while changing how teams think, collaborate, and make decisions. Qualifications 14+ years of experience across technical program management, engineering, infrastructure, developer tools, platform engineering, AI tooling, or related technical domains. Experience leading multi-year, multi-organization technical programs with executive visibility and ambiguous ownership. Deep fluency in developer productivity systems: CI/CD, code review, testing, deployment, observability, developer environments, or AI-assisted development workflows. Understanding of AI and LLM-enabled software development beyond personal productivity. Highly data-driven, with the ability to build measurement systems connecting workflow improvements to business and engineering outcomes. Exceptional cross-functional operator and communicator. Experience leading meaningful organizational change. Pragmatic and iterative approach to introducing structure. Requirements Partner with Developer Productivity and Infrastructure leaders to translate strategy into executable programs. Define and drive the operating model for AI-native developer productivity. Create company-level alignment across various stakeholders. Drive the social and cultural change required for AI-assisted development. Develop communication and enablement mechanisms for engineers and leaders. Build measurement systems that distinguish real productivity from vanity metrics. Drive AI governance and adoption while preserving engineering creativity. Use technical judgment to challenge assumptions and guide tradeoffs.
